Matilda Cake by HD is the dessert people cross cities for. For Chocolate Week, we wondered what it would be like in a mug.

The answer is thick, dark and a little theatrical: a Belgian chocolate base blended with steamed milk and cream, then finished as generously as the cake that inspired it. It’s closer to dessert than to a drink, and all the better for it.
Matilda in a Mug is on for one week, from 26 January to 1 February, to enjoy in or take away at every Haute Dolci. After that, it’s gone for good. The cake, happily, stays on the menu every day.
